These tips are designed to save you money, take heart, by using cloth diapers, you’re already literally saving thousands by not using disposable diapers. But there is more you can do to save!!
- Sew your own diapers, from recycled fabric. Jersey T-Shirts make fantastically soft and absorbant dipes.
- Towels can be recycled into diapers
- Dry Pail – don’t use soaking solutions.
- Wash using an ecologically friendly solution, you’ll use less, and spend less
- Dry your diapers in the sunshine. (It gets rid of stains, and costs nothing)
- Flat diapers are the cheapest.
- Buy second hand diapers – check out www.diaperhyena.com
- Practise elimination communication – not really a diaper tip, but it costs NOTHING and saves on diapers
- Don’t use disposable diaper liners, rather, cut your own from Polar fleece, or old sweaters
- Flannel Shirts make great absorbant fabric for diapers
- Microfibre Cleaning cloths make fantastic inserts for Pocket Diapers, and can be used as boosters for regular diapers
