Non Toxic Cornflower Fingerpaint
Finger Paint
Ingredients
- 3 Cups of Water
- 1 Cup of Cornflower
- Food Colouring, or Non Toxic Powder Paint
- 1 tablespoon of Dettol
Method:
- Get an adult to bring the water to boil in a large saucepan.get an adult to dissolve the cornflour in a little cold water and add to hot water, stirring constantly. Boil until clear and thick (about one minute). Add the dettol (this helps it stop spoiling)
- To make fingerpaint, divide it into containers, add desired food colouring – the colours should be VIBRANT!
Play with textures:
- Offer it to the children while it is still warm to touch.
- A tablespoon of glycerine may be added to make it glossy.
- A ½ cup of Lux soap flakes may be added to give fingerpaint a lumpy texture.
- Add glitter, or sand to change the texture.
Store in refrigerator as it spoils in hot weather.
To use your fingerpaint – either splodge it all over a smooth surface like laminex, or a big sheet of plastic, or on damp sheets of paper
